Description
Overview: Logical Technology and Research (LTR) is seeking several Records Management Technicians to provide support at Ft. Meade, Maryland. Work can begin pending candidate approval by the customer and passing a Tier 1 background check, fingerprint screening and drug test. Must be U.S. Citizen with a Bachelor’s degree, a NARA or ARMA professional records management certification and at least 3 years of experience in Federal records management. DoD records management experience is a plus. Experience with cloud services, ERMS and also a plus. 1+ years of experience managing and processing visual and electronic information such as A/V products, graphic arts, and visual aids within a records management framework also a plus. Some travel, including international travel, may be required
Activities to be performed include:
- Support Government personnel using knowledge and experience with records management programs, records management instructions, regulations, policies, directives, audits, and procedures.
- Provide instruction and assistance to Government records management professionals on the inventory, categorization, and maintenance of both physical and electronic records within a cloud services (G Suite) electronic records management system (ERMS).
- Develop briefings and deliver records management briefings to groups to inform them about records management policies and procedures.
- Provide a variety of analytical and administrative duties involved in the development, implementation, and administration of the records management program.
- Proposal writing and documentation
- Research and effectively apply Federal laws, regulations, policies and procedures
- Draft Federal RM policies and procedures, training and other communications
- Coordinate RM activities and projects with departmental contacts, including delegated external contacts with organizations such as NARA, the FRCs, and other Federal agencies
- Providing support and guidance to the range of internal and external Departmental customers; e.g., Federal and contract employees and records contacts.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen.
- NARA or ARMA professional records management certification (proof will be required).
- 3+ years of experience providing Federal records management support including “hands on” inventory, quality control, assessment, retention, barcoding, and disposition.
- 1+ years of experience processing visual and electronic information products such as A/V, graphic arts, and visual aids within a records management framework a strong plus.
- Experience with cloud-based Electronic Records Management Systems (ERMS) a plus.
- Small team leadership experience also a plus.
- Solid experience with Federal RM work equivalent to the Federal Client-12 grade level that has prepared the individual to perform Federal RM duties
- Knowledge of and skill and ability operating electronic resources, including electronic documents and tracking tools, as well as RM support systems such as ARCIS and ERA
- Skill and ability using Windows 7 Enterprise, including Microsoft’s Word 2010,SharePoint, Excel 2010, PowerPoint 2010 and Outlook 2010
- Demonstrated experience appraising records and developing records disposition schedules, regardless of media formats, and including Electronic Information Systems (EISes), in keeping with NARA guidelines and standards
- Skill researching, evaluating, interpreting and applying Federal RM laws, regulations, policies and procedures accurately and effectively
- Skill and ability working with a small group/team
- Skill and ability managing and/or leading medium to large RM projects with minimal technical oversight and direction
- Skill and ability in communicating administrative and technical RM information accurately, completely and effectively to varied audiences (Federal and contractor) whether orally or in writing
Experience Requirements:
- At least five (1-3) years of experience working with federal records management systems, including writing, document version management and document archiving.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- NARA certification, Records Management training
- NARA ERA training
- Certification in FRC ARCIS
- Additional training/certification in electronic records management and/or vital records.
Location: Fort Meade, MD
Travel: There may be some travel Conus and OConus.
Clearance: NACI background check required, current DoD or DHS clearance preferred.
